Taking a long break... / Me tomaré un largo descanso...

Despite having started this blog several months ago, I'm not at all happy with its progress, both in terms of audience and seeing that every time I try to compile data from a specific magazine, it becomes increasingly difficult to achieve the goal I initially set for myself. 

Many magazines from the 1980s published in different countries have a section of BASIC listings to be typed in, and in retrospect, I have the impression that it's not a very interesting topic for those of us who are fans of classic computing, when it's one of the mainstays of these publications. To a greater or lesser extent, they are there thanks to their readers and/or some of their contributors. 

The fact that most of these typing programs haven't been preserved should be the subject of debate in many classic computing forums and in those represented by the home computer or computers to which they are related.  

Too many years have passed, and it's curious that few users and enthusiasts have made the effort to address this issue, not only in copying and preserving them, but also in sharing them with the community or scene to which they belong (ZX Spectrum, Amstrad CPC, PCW, Commodore, BBC Micro, MSX, Oric, etc.), in the various ways allowed by those forums or archive websites. 

I would like to continue sharing data from those BASIC listings that appeared in this or that magazine, but at the moment I'm not at all motivated until I can resolve certain personal financial issues. 

Until then, the blog will remain active, although I won't be posting on it. In other words, this Type-In Listings blog will remain online indefinitely, until I can resume it as soon as possible.

A pesar de haber iniciado este blog hace varios meses atrás, no estoy nada contento con el progreso del mismo, a nivel de audiencia y viendo que cada vez que quiero recopilar los datos de una revista en concreto, se me va haciendo cada vez más pesado poder llevar a cabo el objetivo que me marqué en un principio.

Son muchas las revistas de los años 80 publicadas en diferentes paises que cuentan con una sección de listados BASIC para teclear y, viéndolo en perspectiva, tengo la impresión de que no es un asunto demasiado interesante para los que somos aficionados a la informática clásica, cuando se trata de uno de los puntales de dichas publicaciones. En mayor o menor medida, ahí están gracias a sus lectores o algunos de sus colaboradores.

Que no se hayan preservado dichos programas para teclear en su mayor parte, tendría que ser objeto de debate en muchos foros de informática clásica y en aquéllos que se vean representados por el ordenador o los ordenadores domésticos a los cuales son afines.

Demasiados años han pasado y resulta curioso que pocos usuarios y aficionados se hayan esforzado en esta cuestión, ya no solo en copiarlos y preservarlos, sino también compartirlos con la comunidad o escena a la que pertenecen (ZX Spectrum, Amstrad CPC, PCW, Commodore, BBC Micro, MSX, Oric, etcétera), de las varias formas permitidas por dichos foros o webs de archivos.

Me gustaría poder continuar compartiendo datos de aquellos listados BASIC aparecidos en tal o cual revista, pero en estos momentos no estoy para nada motivado, hasta poder resolver ciertos temas personales en lo económico. 

Hasta entonces, el blog seguirá activo, aunque no iré publicando en él. Es decir, este blog Type-In Listings permanecerá online indefinidamente, hasta que pueda retomarlo en cuanto me sea posible.
